With trail heads conveniently located in all the communities along the Foothills Trail, a local adventure is only a short drive away! Many great day trips for biking, running or walking are at your fingertips from the many trailheads! Enjoy peaceful stretches along the Carbon River in Orting, views of the area Farmlands in Puyallup, and views of Mount Rainier from Buckley. Using the interactive map below, you can click on any trailhead “purple” and bring up the location in Google Maps for easy driving directions.

Future Plans

The Foothills Coalition is helping to maintain and improve sections of the original railroad route from Cascade Junction (Near present-day South Prairie) all the way up near the historical community of Fairfax near the entrance to Mount Rainier National Park. See the dashed blue line below.
