Buzz had decades of experience in title work, which was an invaluable asset for land acquisition to build the Foothills Trail. His passion for railroad history and conversion of abandoned railways to multi use trails drew Buzz to all aspects of trail building. Buzz was a foundational leader in the Foothills Rails-to-Trails Coalition, serving as president for many years and guiding the organization through complex property negotiations. He was key in securing corridor sections from BNSF and advancing early trail construction. Buzz also loved to get out and work on the trail, spending countless hours building, maintaining and mowing unimproved sections of the trail. Known for his persistence and optimism, Buzz left a lasting legacy, including the conservation easement he helped establish.
