“We know that trails are more than remote footpaths; they are also retreats found within heritage corridors and urban areas, which are accessible and critical to the mental and physical well-being of our citizens.”

“As a local mom with a small child, I know how hard it can be to get out of the house. The trail provides one of the best ways to meet up with other parents and walk safely with our kids while also strengthening our friendships and connections.”

Get involved with Foothills Trails through
volunteering, donation or membership.

The Coalition was founded in 1996 by a group of volunteers who saw the need for more trails in the area. Since then, the Coalition has helped to create over 30 miles of trails, including the Foothills Trail, the Interurban Trail, and the Prairie Line Trail.

But the work isn’t done yet! We are still working toward our mission of a connected trail system from Ruston to Mount Rainier. Join us by volunteering and/or contributing by donation to our ongoing work. Your contribution makes a difference in our community providing safe outdoors spaces to connect with nature while reducing traffic congestion and supporting local businesses.
