Learn the basics of trail stewardship and vegetation management while helping to improve the safety and look of the Foothills Trail!
Join the Foothills Coalition for our 2024 Bike Month event! We will be tackling stewardship tasks for the Foothills National Recreation Trail, focusing on invasive vegetation management for improved trail safety.
Where: Meet at the McMillan Trailhead
What will we be doing – two options participants can choose between:
- At the trailhead: Vegetation management, invasive species removal & trash pickup OR
- Bike ride (or walk): Approx. 0.8 mile north to the intersection of 128th and Foothills trail (128th and 162) where we will have a second station managing vegetation that is creating a trail safety hazard (blocking site lines to the intersection).
Coalition staff and Pierce County’s Natural Lands team will be on site to support and direct people with maps to the bike-in site, and answer any questions.
